Christopher "Maverick" Weick

Owner

Christopher Weick is a native of Houston, TX but made the life-changing decision to move to New Orleans to attend Tulane University in 2001. He quickly found this magical city to be where he wanted to plant roots and acquired his degree in Business Administration and Management and a minor in Psychology. He then continued a career in the service industry until he was forced to evacuate back to Houston due to Hurricane Katrina. While he was relocated, he started his first small business marketing and selling electricity and natural gas directly to consumers; and doing it very well….it landed on the Inc 500 list of fastest growing companies in 2006. Finally able to return to his beloved city of New Orleans in 2006, he was able to rejoin his community of loving friends and chosen family. In 2009, he and a group of former classmates from Tulane and Loyola founded Krewe de Lune, a 501c3 non-profit and marching Mardi Gras krewe that raises thousands of dollars for charity every year. A few years later, he helped found a Burning Man krewe and aided in establishing the governing body of Burning Man in New Orleans, as well as the regional burn: Engulf. He later became a Licensed Realtor with the New Orleans Metropolitan Association of Realtors (NOMAR) and currently operates under Satsuma Realtors. In 2019, he and his life-partner, Lee Cecil, embarked on an adventure and opened Chakras, a vintage clothing and costume shop located in the Marigny of New Orleans, that they own and operate together to this day.
